How it Started

Hola! I’m Marisa! Mama, baker, maker, and founder of Pocketful of Daisies.

This journey began in a season of becoming, when I stepped into motherhood and found myself searching for identity and purpose beyond raising little ones. In that space of change, I started to reconnect with who I am and where I come from.

I’ve always felt deeply connected to my ancestors and the warmth of home I experienced as a young girl visiting my grandmothers. It was a feeling I searched for in adulthood but couldn’t quite find anywhere else. Eventually, I realized something important.

I had become the very thing I was looking for: home.

That realization became the heart of this brand.

What started as a simple curiosity for baking grew into something more meaningful. After developing a gluten allergy, I began reworking passed-down family recipes, carefully adapting them so they could still be shared and enjoyed, just in a new way. Food became both a creative outlet and a bridge between tradition and care.

At the same time, I’ve always believed that play is essential, not just for children, but for connection, imagination, and joy. That belief inspired me to bring together two things I love: playful toys and thoughtfully crafted treats. A space where imagination and sweetness can exist side by side.

Every item here is chosen or created with intention. I partner with businesses that care deeply about their ingredients, materials, and impact, because what we bring into our homes should reflect the same care we want to feel in them.

This is more than a business. It is a reflection of home, memory, creativity, and the belief that joy can be both simple and meaningful.

The Meaning Behind Our Name

Why “Pocketful of Daisies”?

Pocketful of Daisies was born from the idea that the simplest things often hold the most meaning.

A daisy has always felt like a small symbol of everything I believe in. Softness, resilience, childhood joy, and the kind of beauty that doesn’t need to be complicated to be seen. It’s the flower you pick in a field, tuck into your pocket, and forget about until later, only to find it still brings a little smile to your face.

That’s what I wanted this brand to feel like.

“Pocketful” represents the everyday magic we carry with us, little hands showing us their play dough creation, a yummy treat shared at the table, a toy that turns into a whole world of imagination, a gift we give to someone we treasure.

“Daisies” represents the softness behind it all, nostalgia, ancestry, childhood memory, and the feeling of being grounded in something simple and real.
